Colgate Commercial With Howdy Doody

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Here’s an old Colgate commercial with Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody. “Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.”

HOWDY DOODY IS ILLUMINATI.

Ever since television has been invented, the “social engineers” have been busy with subliminal messages to all age groups and most specially to children who are easily molded. The footages are authentic of an un-altered aired episode except where modern graphics are placed. It makes you wonder what didn’t they mess with all those years ago And how it has affected the generations, the cuckoo clock makes several pointers to the number 6 in a succession. What does that mean? Hmmmm…

Howdy Doody elected President of the Kids

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

From that WNBT Ten Year Ago special, Howdy defeats Mr. X to become President of the Kids. Ben Grauer talks over the 1948 kinescope, (which features Howdy, Buffalo Bob Smith and Bob Keeshan as Clarabell) Howdy’s Presidential campaign received such a strong audience response (the show got 58000 requests for campaign buttons) that it convinced Polaroid to become the program’s first sponsor. By the end of 1948, Howdy was the 6th most watched TV show in New York, and they were marketing Howdy Doody dolls. Pretty good for a show that aired at 5:30 PM. Howdy Doody was before my time of course, and it is one of those shows whose appeal escapes me. I never heard my brother talk about it either- he was more interested in local children’s shows. One little factoid on the 1960′s: The last Howdy Doody show aired in 1960. Sesame Street debuted in 1969

Howdy Doody – Andy Handy (4/4)

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

I included an NBC promo, believed to be from 1949, at the beginning of this episode. Buffalo Bob invents the Do-It-Yourself Soda Fountain and manufacturing tycoon Andy Handy is coming to buy it, if it works. When Phineas and Corny hear about this Phineas invents the Do-It-Yourself Dry Cleaner and Corny invents the Do-It-Yourself Shopper. Andy Handy has his hands full with all of these new inventions. Clarabelle plays a gag on Corny and Buffalo Bob while they try to play a song on a balloon. Trivia: – Air date is believed to be May 4, 1957. – In the opening this is stated to be episode 2166. – There were a total of 2543 episodes. – This episode includes two integrated commercials (Wonder Bread and Hostess Cup Cakes). – Howy Doody had 48 freckles, one for each state of the union.
