Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob Smith bookend this 1950s animated commercial for Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, one the sponsors of the popluar HOWDT DOODY televsion show. Rice Krispies were first test marketed in 1927 and then offered to consumers at large in 1928. The first big time TV show for kids…Howdy Doody….Clara Belle..the Peanut Gallery and Buffalo Bob…..HUGE among children from 1947 to 1960…..Major cultural force for chidlren raised in those days…..He was full life…..I talked to him in the early 90′s he died in 1998 he was 80 and died from cancer..survived a heart attack in 1954….TV hall of Famer and pioneer…great guy!
